Chapter 1, Onomatopoeia exercise
Some words I like the sound/feel of:
cluster - feels like fist squeezing the word together, which is kind of what it means
tacit - not sure why... I think that tacit part, seems to slide beneath the rest of the word (for me) and that is what tacit is, the implied, shared understanding
incendiary - I like to think of in as the igniting catalyst, cend is the flame catching and the iary part is promise of an inferno - the tail wisping across the top of trees/houses and ravaging them
ravage - has so many hungry connotations, makes me want to rrrrolll the initial R... the building up, rrrrrravage, also the vag part...
fulcrum - feel the word really hinges on the syllable break, like the leverage point it implies
tranche - like how it feels like a finite piece, a slice, a segment,
